Carlos Lobo Joins Arnold & Porter’s Corporate & Finance Practice in New York

New York, NY, September 25, 2023 — Arnold & Porter announced today that Carlos Lobo has joined the firm’s Corporate & Finance practice as a partner, resident in New York. Lobo brings 28 years of experience representing clients in complex cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, with a concentration in Latin America.

Derek Stoldt, co-chair of Arnold & Porter’s Corporate & Finance practice, said: “Carlos is well known in both the U.S. and Latin American markets for his exceptional M&A background and broad experience with private equity investments. His demonstrated history of advising Latin American clients on sophisticated transactions will add further depth to our integrated transactional platform.”

Internationally experienced, Lobo represents companies across numerous industries, including technology, media, telecommunications, energy (including renewable energy), financial services, infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, and agribusiness. He regularly advises public and private companies and private equity clients from Latin America making acquisitions or raising capital in the U.S., as well as U.S. and international strategic players and funds making investments, acquisitions, and joint ventures in Latin America. He also has represented issuers and underwriters in IPOs, follow-ons, and issuance of debt instruments in the international and domestic capital markets. Earlier in his career, Lobo was a partner with leading Brazilian and U.S. law firms. Lobo has been recognized by Chambers Latin America, The Legal 500 Latin America, The Legal 500 United States, and he was recently recognized as one of Latinvex’s 2023 “Top 100 Lawyers” in Latin America.

Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Lobo earned his L.L.M. from Columbia University and his L.L.B. from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
