Senior Policy Specialist*

Mickayla Stogsdill advocates for clients on a variety of policy issues. While she mainly focuses on the healthcare field, she also works on an array of other issues, including intellectual property, appropriations, and tax policy.

Mickayla works closely with a wide range of clients, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, hospital systems, and healthcare provider associations on a range of federal policy issues, including Medicare coverage and reimbursement, Medicaid & the State Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), mental health provider coverage issues, public health, delivery system reform, and digital health support. Mickayla has experience developing congressional strategy and engaging directly with congressional staff to effectively support client interests.

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, she successfully engaged in helping new and existing clients seek specific legislative relief in Congress and the executive branch. In her role, she helps clients by monitoring and tracking federal legislative and regulatory policy developments. Mickayla has experience navigating the legislative processes, drafting legislative amendment and bill language, preparing comment letters, and supporting coalition strategies. Mickayla has worked on significant healthcare legislation and subsequent agency implementation, including with respect to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, and COVID-19 stimulus legislation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mickayla interned under Chairman Alexander (R-TN) for the Health team of the Senate HELP Committee. In this role, she worked primarily on issues regarding insurance premium changes, drug pricing, gag clauses, electronic health records (EHRs), and national healthcare expenditures. She received her B.A. in Public Administration, with honors, from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
