2017 Diversity Scholarship
As part of the Firm’s commitment to promoting diversity in the legal profession, we award $10,000 scholarships to highly-qualified first-year students. Each scholarship is paid directly to a recipient’s law school to help finance tuition costs for the second academic year.
Qualified applicants are currently enrolled, first-year law students at ABA-accredited law schools who:
- Contribute to the diverse background of a law school's student body
- Demonstrate strong academic achievement
- Demonstrate an interest in promoting diversity in the legal profession
While the Firm may also take into account a student’s need for financial assistance, such need is not required.
Applicants must submit a current resume, official law school transcript, and a personal statement (limited to 500 words) that describes the importance of diversity in their personal background and how they have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity in the legal profession.
An applicant may also submit a separate statement (limited to 500 words) demonstrating a financial need for a scholarship, but such statement is not required because need is not an official criterion for this merit-based award.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2017 Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer Diversity Scholarship. Information about the 2018 Diversity Scholarship will be available here beginning in February 2018.
