Colleen McDuffie's practice focuses on intellectual property, technology, and Internet legal matters for a broad range of clients, with a particular emphasis on technology transactions. Her experience includes negotiating and drafting licenses, strategic alliances, joint ventures and other intellectual property and commercial agreements; protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights, including drafting and prosecuting trademark, copyright and patent applications; drafting legal opinions on patent and trademark matters; due diligence regarding intellectual property and technology assets for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs; corporate intellectual property audits; and client counseling on a wide array of intellectual property, high tech, and Internet legal matters.
Ms. McDuffie has represented clients in a wide range of industries. Examples include semiconductor design and fabrication, satellites and space technologies, telecommunications, Internet and new media, pharmaceutical research and manufacturing, rubber and vinyl product manufacturing, marine navigation, and disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
Ms. McDuffie is a 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Hardy Cross Dillard Scholar, and she has physics and electrical and computer engineering degrees from George Mason University.
