Arnold & Porter Announces the Election of Eight New Partners, Seven New Counsel

WASHINGTON, DC, February 2, 2015 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced that it has elected eight new partners to the firm: Kara Daniels, Niels Ersbøll, Axel Gutermuth, Ariane Horn, Laura Jeltema, Kristan Lansbery, David Valeck, and Anton Ware. The firm also elected seven new counsel: Anne Brooksher-Yen, Amy DeWitt, Jason Ewart, Tom Fox, Adam Reinhart, Kristen Riemenschneider and Nicholas Townsend.

New Partners

Kara Daniels is a member of the firm's Government Contracts practice, based in the Washington, DC office. She earned her J.D., with honors, from the George Washington University Law School, and received her B.A. from Haverford College.

Niels Ersbøll, a member of the firm's Antitrust/Competition practice, is based in the Brussels office. Mr. Ersbøll has an M.A. from Copenhagen University; a Socrates Diploma, European Law from the University of Brussels, Belgium; an Erasmus Diploma, European Law, from the University of Leuven, Belgium; and an M.B. from Copenhagen University.

Axel Gutermuth is a member of the firm's Antitrust/Competition practice, based in the Brussels office. Mr. Gutermuth is a German Rechtsanwalt and is also a member of the New York bar. He has an LLM from the New York University School of Law and a Certificate of Political Sciences from University of Aix-en-Provence, France.

Ariane Horn is a member of the firm's FDA and Healthcare practice, resident in the Washington, DC office. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School, and received her B.A., cum laude, from Cornell University.

Laura Jeltema is member of the firm's Tax, Trusts, and Estates practice, based in the Washington, DC office. Ms. Jeltema earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Western Michigan University.

Kristan Lansbery, a member of the firm's Intellectual Property practice, is resident in the Washington, DC office. She earned her J.D. from George Washington University after obtaining her Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. She received her B.A. from Reed College.

David Valeck is a member of the firm's Corporate and Securities practice in the Washington, DC office where he practices in the areas of commercial finance and private equity. Mr. Valeck earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, an MBA from the University of Michigan Business School, and his B.A. from Michigan State University.

Anton Ware, a member of the firm's International Arbitration and Business Litigation practices, is resident in the San Francisco office. Mr. Ware earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He received his M.A., with distinction, from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.

New Counsel

Anne Brooksher-Yen is a member of the firm's Litigation practice and is based in the New York office. She earned her J.D. from the New York University School of Law, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona.

Amy DeWitt is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property practice, resident in the Washington, DC office. She earned her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and her M.B.A. from Binghamton University. She received her B.S., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University.

Jason Ewart, a member of the firm's Antitrust/Competition practice, is based in Washington, DC. He earned his J.D., with high honors, from Emory University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A., cum laude, from George Washington University.

Tom Fox, a member of the firm's EU Life Sciences practice, is resident in the London office. Mr. Fox has an CPE and LPC from the College of Law, England. He has an M.A. from Balliol College, Oxford University.

Adam Reinhart is a member of the Securities Enforcement and Litigation practices and is based in the Washington, DC office.  He earned his J.D., with highest honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Kristen Riemenschneider, a member of the firm's Intellectual Property practice, is resident in the Washington, DC office. Ms. Riemenschneider earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a BSEE from the University of Virginia.

Nicholas Townsend, a member of the firm's National Security and Public Policy practices, is based in the Washington, DC office. He earned his J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School and received his B.A., with highest honors, from the University of Michigan.
