Williams Speaks at Cardozo Law School Conference Honoring Respected Professor

April 17, 2016
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law New York, NY 10003

Finance special counsel George Williams spoke at an all-day conference held at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law on April 17, 2016.

The conference, Forty Years in Law and Literature: A Festschrift Celebrating the Academic Career of Professor Richard Weisberg, featured authors presenting their papers on a wide range of topics at the cutting edge of law and academia, including the genesis of Law and Literature as a field of study and its development as a movement, as well as its proliferation into other scholarly disciplines, such as Holocaust Studies and Constitutional Law.

In his talk, Williams argued that several logical, linguistic, normative and phenomenological aspects of the law and the way it is applied suggest the inadequacy of a number of current theories of legal interpretation. They also suggest both the potential value of some modest changes in the way the law is taught and some topics for further research.  Williams’ panel was chaired by Michael Braff, a former Kaye Scholer attorney.
