Barry Willner served for 16 consecutive years, beginning in 1995, on the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Willner served as the firm’s Managing Partner for more than a decade and was the firm’s first Managing Partner. Prior to becoming Managing Partner, Mr. Willner was involved in the firm’s management as Vice Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee and thereafter served as Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. In the years during which Mr. Willner presided as Managing Partner, the firm opened offices in Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Silicon Valley and Shanghai. Mr. Willner also served as a member of the firm’s Compensation Committee for 15 years.
Mr. Willner has been lead counsel in a variety of litigations involving antitrust, contract disputes, securities fraud and RICO violations, bid rigging, labor disputes, lender liability and derivatives. Matters litigated by Mr. Willner include the defense of a major oil company in two complex price-fixing cases. In more than a dozen cases, Mr. Willner has successfully defended banking institutions.
