Senior Health Policy Advisor*

Eugenia Pierson, chair of the Legislative & Public Policy practice group, assists a wide range of clients in the development and implementation of legislative and regulatory strategies. As senior policy advisor and head of healthcare legislative advocacy, her work focuses on health policy issues related to hospital and health systems, providers, consumers and manufacturers, including Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement, drug pricing, implementation and oversight of the Inflation Reduction Act, public health, insurance coverage, delivery system reform, and health information technology. She began her career on Capitol Hill as a staff member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee. She later served as the former chair of an Am Law 100 firm's Healthcare Policy practice group.

Eugenia has worked on major health legislation, including the Inflation Reduction Act, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008, Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, and the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. Originally from New Orleans, she has also been actively engaged in advocacy related to strengthening the health care delivery system in the region in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
