Since the 1991 opening of the firm's first California office, Arnold & Porter's Los Angeles attorneys have represented clients in handling complex, high-profile legal matters. Clients from across the country and internationally regularly turn to us to handle commercial and corporate lawsuits and arbitrations; intellectual property and technology litigation; product liability and consumer protection disputes; antitrust and trade regulation litigation; environmental and regulatory proceedings; corporate transactions; bankruptcy proceedings; and entertainment matters.

Our Los Angeles attorneys regularly partner with colleagues from our two Northern California offices, as well as attorneys throughout the firm, to provide coordinated services in more than 30 practice areas. This work spans the region's most vibrant industries, including energy and consumer product companies; pharmaceutical and biotech companies; banking, insurance, and financial services institutions; healthcare providers; and entertainment and media corporations.

Our attorneys are consistently recognized by Chambers and Best Lawyers and have appeared on the Daily Journal's "Top 100 Lawyers in California," "Top Women Attorneys," "20 Top Lawyers Under 40," and "Top IP Attorneys" lists, as well as on Law360's MVP list.

The Los Angeles office has an active and widely recognized pro bono practice with attorneys representing clients in high-impact litigation (such as death penalty matters, educational cases, and veteran rights issues against US Veterans Administration), as well as individual cases for underserved members of the community. Our attorneys work on immigration proceedings, First Amendment litigation, tenants' rights issues, asylum matters, and protection of voting rights in various states. In 2014, the Los Angeles office was recognized as the "Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year" by Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation. The office's pro bono excellence also has been the subject of formal recognition by the American Bar Association, the California Lawyer/Daily Journal, and the HIV/AIDS Legal Service Alliance.
